Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 August 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of iGave.co.nz. By using the platform you agree to the terms below. Please read them carefully — together with our Privacy Policy, they set out the rules that apply when you browse charities, donate, or manage a charity profile here.
Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using iGave.co.nz, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. These terms apply to all visitors, registered supporters, and verified charity representatives.
About the service
iGave.co.nz is an online platform that connects individual supporters in New Zealand with charities currently registered on the official NZ Charities Register. We display live charity information sourced from Charities Services, enable secure donations processed through Stripe, and provide dashboards for supporters and charity representatives. We do not operate as a charity or fundraiser ourselves and we are not affiliated with the charities listed beyond providing the platform.
Accounts
To donate or manage a charity, you may need to create an account and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Charity representatives gain access only after verifying the official registered contact email, and must provide accurate information when claiming or managing a charity profile.
Donations and payments
Donations are processed and settled through Stripe. Once a payment is confirmed by Stripe, iGave.co.nz records the donation and generates a tax-compliant receipt. All amounts displayed are GST-inclusive with stated breakdowns. Refunds are handled in line with Stripe's refund rules and our records; we are unable to reverse a donation and redirect it to a different charity after a payment is confirmed.
Platform fees
Charity representatives may be charged a campaign launch fee to publish a fundraising campaign. The current fee is shown at the point of publishing and is invoiced on successful payment. Donation amounts are passed through to the charity via the mechanisms provided by Stripe and Charities Services; iGave.co.nz is not the recipient of donated funds.
Charity data and accuracy
Charity names, registration numbers, contact details, and status are sourced live from the official NZ Charities Register. While we display the most current information available from that register, we cannot guarantee its accuracy at every moment and you should verify charity details directly with Charities Services where it matters.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the platform, including by attempting to claim a charity you are not authorised to represent, spoofing charity identities, submitting fraudulent donations, interfering with security features, or trying to access data you are not entitled to. We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you have breached these terms.
Content and campaigns
Charity representatives are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of the text and images they publish on their profile and campaigns. You grant iGave.co.nz a limited licence to display that content on the platform for the purpose of operating the service. We may remove content we consider misleading, unlawful, or otherwise inappropriate.
Limitation of liability
iGave.co.nz is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. To the fullest extent permitted by New Zealand law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the platform, including any failure of a donation to reach a charity as a result of payment processor or banking issues. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under New Zealand law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will publish changes on this page and update the revised date above. Continued use of iGave.co.nz after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
