About iGave

The iGave idea grew out of our founders background as a graphic designer understanding the cost involved sending direct mail for charities to their valued supporters. Over many years, they saw how much effort and money went in to printing and posting appeals and the waste when those appeals were ‘Returned to sender’. Supporters want to know that their donations are being spent wisely and in the right places, but how?

Now there is a better way to bring generous New Zealanders and charities together, iGave: one place where you can find and support New Zealand’s registered charities. We pull charity information live from the official New Zealand Charities Register, so every organisation listed is verified and currently registered with Charities Services. That means supporters can give with confidence, knowing their money reaches a genuine, recognised cause.

FREE for supporters to give donations, FREE for charities to receive donations.

Apart from the Stripe transaction fee, all donations made are FREE of charge. A fee only applies to a charity if they chooses to run a dedicated fundraising campaign through iGave and we commit half of all our net earnings straight back into New Zealand communities.

For supporters, we offer a simple way to search charities by name or location, follow causes you care about, contribute to active fundraising campaigns, and keep an automated donation history that makes tax reporting at the end of the financial year effortless. All this while the supporters identity and personal information remain confidential and never shared with charities or third-party marketing companies.

For charities, instead of sending thousands of letters and hoping they reach the right people, supporters can choose the causes they care about. We provide a dedicated dashboard to claim your charity, receive donations, view aggregated supporter analytics, and manage GST-compliant invoices. And, apart from the Stripe transaction fee, all this is FREE!

Charities can register and receive donations without paying iGave any fees. A fee applies only if a charity chooses to run a dedicated fundraising campaign through iGave. Our aim is to make that option more targeted, measurable and cost effective than the direct mail campaigns that first inspired the idea.

iGave is built by a small independent team, we bring years of hands-on experience creating charity appeals, and we know that trust has to be earned. That means being clear about how iGave, what a campaign costs and where the money goes. Donations are processed securely through Stripe, and we publish all amounts GST-inclusive with clear breakdowns for transparency and Inland Revenue compliance. Charities gain access only after verifying the official registered contact email, so public profiles stay trustworthy. iGave.co.nz is built and maintained by a small independent team in New Zealand, with the mission of making giving to local charities as simple, transparent, and safe as possible.
