iGave.co.nz is built and operated from New Zealand. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to all visitors and registered users of iGave.co.nz, including individual supporters and verified charity representatives.
Information we collect
When you browse registered charities on iGave.co.nz, we may receive the information you provide directly — such as your email address and password when you create an account, and any message you choose to attach to a donation. When you make a donation, our payment processor Stripe collects and handles your card and payment details. We never see or store full card numbers on our servers. We also collect limited technical information automatically (such as browser type and approximate region) via cookies and similar technologies, and we log aggregate engagement events such as when a donation checkout is started and when marketing emails are opened, so charities can understand campaign performance.
How we use your information
We use your information to process and confirm donations, to generate and deliver tax-compliant donation receipts and history for your records, to keep you signed in, to send service messages about your donations or account, and to let charity representatives manage their charity profile and campaign analytics in an aggregated, non-identifying way. We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
Charity representatives
Charity representatives gain access to a profile only after verifying the official registered contact email held by Charities Services. Once verified, a representative can update their charity's branding and intro text and publish campaigns. Representatives see aggregated supporter and donation analytics only — they do not see individual donor names, contact details, or personal messages attached to a donation.
Sharing and disclosure
We share donation information with Stripe strictly to process and refund payments, and we share limited account information with our hosting and email delivery providers so the service can operate. We may disclose information when required by New Zealand law or to protect rights, property, or safety. Charity engagement data is shared with the relevant charity's verified representatives in aggregated form only.
Data retention
We retain your donation records for as long as necessary to provide the service and to support Inland Revenue tax reporting requirements. You may request export or deletion of your account data at any time; we will remove personal information we are not legally required to keep, though we may retain anonymised aggregate statistics.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you authenticated and session state intact. We also collect anonymous aggregate analytics to improve the platform. You can control or disable cookies in your browser settings; some features may not function correctly if essential cookies are blocked.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to access and correct the personal information we hold about you, and to request its deletion where it is no longer needed. To exercise these rights, contact us through the Contact page.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS) and separation of payment handling through Stripe. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to comply with New Zealand privacy law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will publish any changes on this page and update the revised date above. Continued use of iGave.co.nz after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
